As we move into the next phase of our evolution, awareness can be harsh. Like a glaring spotlight shining into a dark room. Our first thought may be, “How did I miss this one?” All of a sudden, things become obvious, and it leaves room for being hard on oneself. Please don’t beat yourself up. No need for that.
Awareness only dawns when we are ready for it. When we have built enough skills, and are surrounded by the right people (which may be no one). You didn’t know what you didn’t know, so you can’t hold your old self accountable for past unconscious actions.“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” ~Maya Angelou
Be gentle with yourself, and let the awareness seep in slowly. You won’t be able to return to your past levels of unconscious behavior once the light hits your eyes, so don’t worry about that, either. Just sit with the new level of awareness, this new knowledge, and let your very cells absorb it. Never underestimate awareness. It changes you, on every level, completely organically.
We are so conditioned to “do”, rather than “be”. When we get a new understanding, first we berate ourselves for not seeing it sooner, then we storm off to make changes in our habit patterns… new diet, new study, new something to do. I am suggesting you give it some time to sink in first. Yes, habits will change, but instead of making change, just allow change. It will be faster and easier that way. Give it two weeks. If you aren’t seeing anything happen in two weeks, then go for it… take action. Until then, let evolution occur naturally.
Just reading a few word can trigger deep remembering. Let it. A conversation can present a whole new outlook. Let it. Epiphanies can fall out of the sky. Let them. Allow yourself to receive new information, and allow it to change you. “Intelligence is the ability to adapt to change.” ~ Stephen Hawking
Yes, this is another step in dissolving the ego stories. We used to think our circumstances were a given, but as it turns out, they were just stories. Stories can change. Remember that. Being stubbornly fixed will no longer serve you. It’s time to expand our ideas of normal, in every aspect of our lives. Try to live, as much as you can, in awe of the possibilities. Instead of “why didn’t it work out like I planned?” use “this will be better than I had planned.” Your Higher Self has way better plans than your human mind could imagine.
So, for now, just let the awareness seep in. Let it move inside your body, and make organic changes. As always, the awareness may be of a psychological nature, but it is also stored physically. Detox is just part of the process. Drink lots of water, as you allow yourself to change. Be gentle in your awareness.
